Distinction in the "Safety culture in rail transport" compatition awarded by the President of the Railway Transport Office
The competition jury appreciated the initiative of ORLEN KolTrans consisting in marking all currently used locomotives with reflective tapes and placing lighting in the form of an additional lamp with a beam of blinking light on the cisterns at the beginning of the train. The experts also concluded that thanks to the marking, the visibility of the train station, especially at night, is better, especially from a long distance. It was also considered a very good and interesting way to improve safety at rail-road crossings, because additional machine marking allows other road users to notice an approaching train much earlier and react appropriately when approaching the crossing.
The aim of the competition was to reward or distinguish people or entities that contribute to raising the safety culture in rail transport through their work or introduced innovative solutions, and the possibility of appreciating and rewarding people who prevent rail incidents by their behavior or actions.
